COURSE INSTRUCTOR - E. BRIAN ALEXANDER
Brian's long-term fascination with the intersection of technology, law and policy formed the basis for his work over the last 25 years. Brian started as a Mechanical/Electrical Project Engineer before graduating from the Catholic University's Columbus School of Law. After earning a J.D., he worked in private legal practice representing technology and other clients in contract, regulatory and intellectual property matters. Over the last 15 years, Brian has assisted many clients with privacy and data security law compliance and counseled clients regarding technical standards covering artificial intelligence, information security and cybersecurity. He has provided legal advice and consulted on governance, risk and compliance matters for companies of all sizes and in nearly every sector. Brian worked for four years as General Counsel and subsidiary President of an Al engineering and data science firm that specializes in trustworthy and responsible AI/ML. He is a certified lead auditor under ISO 42001 (AI Management Systems) and performs Al governance and systems assessments based on Al and NIST standards. He is also a member of the Executive Circle for the Northern Virgnia Technology Council (NVTC) and has held a leading role on the NVTC Impact Al Summit steering committee for the last three years.
